Kazakhstan’s population increase led to an increased threat to the nation’s natural resources. Abt worked with international clients to strengthen climate resiliency in Kazakhstan, improving energy efficiency and increasing supplies of renewable energy. Abt provided technical assistance and research on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the negative effects of climate change for the Asian Development Bank. Our research estimated the cost of reducing GHG emissions in the energy and transportation sectors of Kazakhstan. Working within the C5+1 Central Asian partnership, Abt helps C5 countries, including Kazakhstan, create a collaborative foundation for addressing conflict and combating climate change through diplomacy.
