Building Strong Communities

Many still associate Rwanda first as the location of the ethnic genocide of 800,000 people in 1994. However, the country has made significant progress in coming together after that cataclysmic event and on improving its economy beyond pre-1994 levels. Abt Associates-led projects in Rwanda are working to further advance the country by protecting people from malaria and helping them to prepare for and adapt to climate change.
