Impacts of Two Job Search Assistance Programs

A rigorous evaluation of two different approaches to job search assistance programs in Sacramento, Calif., found no difference in employment rates, earnings, or the receipt of public assistance during the six-month follow-up period. One program for cash assistance recipients required three weeks of group instruction on job search and job readiness skills, and the other required three days.
